TROY, N.Y. - In their only home day game of the year, the Tri-City ValleyCats were defeated 5-4 by the Lowell Spinners on Monday at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. A crowd of 5,064 were on hand for the 11 a.m. start.

Down 3-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, ValleyCats first baseman Phil Disher tied the score with a three-run home run to left field off Spinners' pitcher Mitchell Harold. The 'Cats then went ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning when a wild pitch from Herold allowed third baseman David Flores to score from third. However, the lead was erased in the top of the ninth when Lowell pinch hitter Rafael Cabreja hit a two-run home run off Jose Duran.

On the mound, Antonio Noguera made a strong start for the ValleyCats, going 5.2 innings with five hits and two runs allowed. Mike Hacker also turned in an impressive pitching performance for Tri-City when he came on in relief of Jose Duran, not allowing a hit or a run.

On Tuesday, the ValleyCats hit the road for a six-game road trip that will take them to Auburn and Oneonta. On Saturday, the 'Cats will take on the Oneonta Tigers at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. Tri-City will return home on July 28 to face the Oneonta Tigers. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium Box Office, by calling (518) 629-2287, or by logging on to www.tcvalleycats.com.
