ValleyCats Knock Off Spinners in Extras

The Spinners lost an extra-innings heartbreaker on Wednesday night, falling to the Tri-City Valley Cats 6-5 in 11 innings on Baseball Scorebook Giveaway night at LeLacheur Park. Spinners starting pitcher Drake Britton pitched five innings in his professional debut, allowing just two runs (one earned), striking out three Valley Cats batters. Before sending the game to extra innings, Spinners OF Luis Sumoza was poised to be named player of the game following his 2-for-4 night, adding two RBI and the Spinners first home run of the season. The Spinners return to action on Thursday night when Yeiper Castillo makes his US debut on Jacoby Ellsbury Bobble Head Giveaway, sponsored by Outback Steakhouse and Collins Dentistry for Children.
